Servicios de defensa de la familia
offered in conjunction with our partner, NAMI SB
Are you a parent or family member trying to cope with the ramifications of your loved one’s serious mental health disorder or substance abuse disorder on your family while also navigating the public and private mental healthcare system? Our Family Advocate is dedicated to and trained to offer one-on-one support during such challenging times with experience that will assist you in accessing the range of clinical and support services available in our community.
The Family Advocate can provide insight and support in securing:
- Workable options and solutions.
- Resources related to housing, hospitalization, treatment, the legal system, and often supportive programming.
- Support groups for caregivers and family members.
- NAMI Family-to-Family classes, workshops, and monthly educational/informational meetings.
Drop-ins are welcome on a first come, first served basis. However, appointments are encouraged. Services are offered at no cost and available in both English and Spanish. Contact Casey Conneely, Family Advocate, for an appointment, 805-325-5580.
Grupo de apoyo a las familias
If you are a family member supporting a loved-one living with a mental health disorder, join us where you’ll be able to share stories, build coping and communications skills, and learn alongside others who understand. Meets via ZOOM on Mondays at 6:00 pm or in person at Mental Wellness Center on Thursdays at 6:00 PM. The Viernes morning Family Support group is for family members who are supporting an adult loved one struggling with a mental health disorder between the ages of 18-25. If you are interested in joining this group please contact Casey Conneely, (805)-325-5580.

Anxiety Workshop for Adults
Unpack the tools to tackle anxiety with our Miércoles workshops! From 4:30 to 6:00 pm, in person, at Mental Wellness Center, join other adults in a supportive community as we navigate strategies and insights from Arlin Cunic, MA’s Anxiety Workbook. Together let’s empower ourselves to thrive.

Salud mental en casa Pares y padres
Mental Wellness Center’s interdisciplinary team works in a family’s home or at our offices to engage and support the mental health needs of referred families with an adult child who has severe mental illness. The Team establishes individual relationships with family members and adult children in the hopes of providing education, support and connection to mental health resources, breaks down barriers, and promotes recovery and resilience for the entire family.

Si usted es familiar de una persona que padece un trastorno de salud mental que está perturbando su vida familiar y necesita ayuda y apoyo, este curso de ocho semanas de duración se ofrece dos veces al año y le enseñará los distintos trastornos de salud mental, cómo se diagnostican y tratan, y cómo se les puede apoyar con compasión.
