What is Depression?

Depression is characterized by persistent sadness and a loss of interest in activities that one normally enjoys; it is accompanied by an inability to carry out daily activities.

What are the symptoms?

  • Changes in sleep and appetite
  • Lack of concentration
  • Loss of energy and/or interest in activities
  • Hopelessness or guilty thoughts, suicidal thoughts
