Development, Communications and Programs Assistant

As the Marketing and Programs Assistant at the Mental Wellness Center, your work is instrumental in raising awareness about our programs and services while supporting a smooth workflow. Your days will be dynamic and filled with opportunities to engage in various duties throughout the day, interacting with diverse leadership, employees, and clients–all working together in support of the programs and services of MWC. You will support others by creating the best possible work product on behalf of the organization while promoting a culture rooted in our core values. Peer Support Specialist

Peer Support Specialists are people in a peer designated role providing direct services with a personal experience of recovery from mental health, substance use, or trauma conditions who receive specialized training and supervision to guide and support others who are experiencing similar mental health, substance use or trauma issues toward increased wellness. A Peer Support Specialist is an individual who has made a personal commitment to his or her own recovery, has maintained that recovery over a period of time, has taken the 80-hour Peer Support Learning training (or equivalent) to work in mutuality with others, and is willing to share what he or she has learned about recovery in an inspirational way.

Transportation Coordinator

Providing transportation with company van to and from a variety of places for clients with mental illness. This includes transporting to and from medical appointments, assisting them with the process as needed and taking part in planned outings and day program activities. The driver will provide supervision for clients while in his/her care. Promoting client well-being and satisfaction through support with activities of daily living is an important part of the position. Medical appointments and grocery shopping for four residential facilities is also part of the position. The schedule is Monday through Friday.

Direct Care Staff

Provides direct personal care and supervision to clients at a 24/7 facility. Promotes client well­ being and satisfaction through support with activities of daily living.

Description of responsibilities:

  1. Provide care and supervision to residents.
  2. Assist with activities of daily living, including medication oversight, follow facility protocol, licensing regulation and guidelines.
  3. Follow the individual service plan and for each client.
  4. Function as a team, assisting coworkers as the need arises.
  5. Monitor client activity, food intake, functional status, psychosocial status, acting as required to promote client wellbeing.
  6. Report status change immediately to the supervisor.
  7. Document client status change, including but not limited to, physical change, reaction to medication, psychosocial status change, and/or behavioral changes.
  8. Document client rehabilitation services provided through Medi-Cal billing.
  9. Adhere to guidelines in the employee handbook including dress code, code of conduct, scheduling, etc.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
